An essential oil for rejuvenating mature skin, treating acne and purifying oily skin.
A sweet-herbaceous & earthy aroma, this versatile “green leaf” (patchai ellai in Tamil) plant is a favourite in luxury perfumery and historically has a great affinity to skincare treatments.
• Calms nerves | helps create a feeling of calm and relaxation by reducing sympathetic activity (that system of nerves which produces the "fight-or-flight" response and dangerous to health if constantly aroused by stress). • Sleep & sedative | has been shown to have sedative effects when inhaled, which may be useful in promoting sound sleep. • Acne, eczema & rosacea | can inhibit a range of bacteria and fungi, especially staphylococcus aureus – the silent culprit behind acne, eczema & rosacea, which, when always accompanied by flare-ups. • Skin refining | has the advantage of being both anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, which is ideal for remedying a range of skin ailments and fungal infections (i.e. athlete's foot, cracked and chapped skin, dandruff, eczema and more). • Various skin ailments | can protect from damaging effects of UV on skin cell damage (UV sunlight exposure is probably responsible for about 80% of our skin-ageing); hence strong potential to reduce wrinkles, increase collagen & skin elasticity.

Cotton ball: put a few drops in cotton balls and breathe in or place in a cylindrical container first. Keep the container at 10-20cm away and inhale 10 deep breaths. If using before sleep, place container by bedside. If at work, keep container beside desk. Repeat steps for desired effects 2-3 times a day.
Bath: Add few drops to bath. To help oils disperse easily, mix first with little oil or our liquid soap before pouring into bath.
Steam/Compress for cold/flu: Add 10 drops to 100ml very warm water. Soak cloth in the scented water & wrap on desired area (ideal for bruises, wounds, muscular aches & pains and skin problems). For facial steam add 5 drops to bowl of hot water, cover head with a towel to make a tent, then steam face for a few mins.
Massages: Use 1-2% essential oil to carrier (i.e. 1-2 drops per 10ml of carrier); for children under 12 halve this amount.
Diffuser/Vaporisation: add recommended number of drops to nebulizer or cold steam diffuser.
