Spicy, warm & lively, this favourite kitchen spice is known as "universal medicine" in ancient India for its versatile use in medicine and promoting health.
• Nausea relief | sharp, invigorating aroma has been shown to help against nausea and dizziness. • Pain & ache relief | contains an anti-inflammatory compounds called zingibain, which can have pain relieving effects (such as joint and knee pain) from rheumatism and arthritis, or general muscle aches, migraines and headaches. Consider for massage, steam compress, hot drink or food additive. • Anti-ageing & troubled skin | as an antioxidant has been shown to have a powerful effect against free radicals (unstable molecules that cause damage to cells and lead to illnesses, wrinkles and aging) and a the common bacteria linked with symptoms of troubled and congested skin. • Natural aphrodisiac | used traditionally as such due to its warming and stimulating compounds now shown to be effective in scientific studies.

Cotton ball: put a few drops in cotton balls and breathe in or place in a cylindrical container first. Keep the container at 10-20cm away and inhale 10 deep breaths. If using before sleep, place container by bedside. If at work, keep container beside desk. Repeat steps for desired effects 2-3 times a day.
Massages: Use up to 5% essential oil to carrier (i.e. 5 drops per 10ml of carrier); for children under 12 halve this amount.
Diffuser/Vaporisation: add recommended number of drops to nebulizer or cold steam diffuser.
Bath: Add few drops to bath. To help oils disperse easily, mix first with little oil or our liquid soap before pouring into bath.
Steam/Compress for cold/flu: Add 10 drops to 100ml very warm water. Soak cloth in the scented water & wrap on desired area (ideal for bruises, wounds, muscular aches & pains and skin problems). For facial steam add 5 drops to bowl of hot water, cover head with a towel to make a tent, then steam face for a few mins.
